Mr Knightley Day!!!

                                                  

  June 11th is now Mr Knightley Day! A blog-wide celebrated day that all us silly fan-girls go crazy chattering on about his wonderfulness! And I'm one of them!

   He is cool. Face it peoples! Mr Knightley is purely awesome. Not because his proposal was so great and wonderful and sweet. Not because both Jonny Lee Miller and Jeremy Northam can do the smolder. Not because he owns Donwell Abbey. Not 'cause he wears top hats! (OK... may be) It is because he is such a gentleman.

"His hair cut. Imperative business Indeed."

   In character, in manners and in everything. He is to be held up as the perfect (though he is not exactly perfect) example of the gentleman. Not Mr. Elton!
  He sacrificed so much in telling Emma what he thought of her meddling. First in scolding her for her interference in Harriet's life and secondly in making her see how wrong she was in openly mocking Miss Bates in the company of people who would be guided by her treatment of the lady. Think... she might have never spoken to him again. Yet she did! That was exaggerated. :)

   And as Hayden of Story Girl puts it... "Some girls may be looking for their Sir Percy. Some girls may be looking for their Mr Darcy. But I am looking for my Mr Knightley". (forgive me of I misquoted that, dear)  That was inspirational! Those are my thought exactly... well, I may change the order. Let's not go there. :)  
    I think everyone wants a Mr Knightley! Sir Percy may be your favourite literary hero, Percy fans, but that does not mean you really want a guy who spent most of his time rescuing poor peasants from the evil clutches of... oh who were the bad guys in The Scarlet Pimpernel? Never mind. Mr Darcy may be your favourite literary hero, (cue Darcy fans) but that does not mean that you would be happy with a guy who jumps in his pond whenever he feels like it and goes parading about your fathers grounds in a big, black coat. We know this did not happen in the book so ignore that.
("Knight in Shinning Pajamas" anyone?)  hehehehe...
     Nope! I think a Mr Knightley would do for all of us.
  He is agreeable and hardly outspoken. I know both Mr Darcy and Sir Percy are NOT outspoken! (well, Sir Percy's cover-character may be) :)
  But back to Mr. Knightley.

WE share your joy Emma... :)

 Even when I watched the 1996 Emma with my mom for the first time, I always liked the guy in the coattails, but after viewing the 2009 Emma it was "like at first sight". And please tell me I am not the only one who feels that Mr Knightley is purely great? However, I did not always, really, really like Mr Knightley. Don't freak out Melody and Eva-joy!?! *sighs in relief.
  But anyway.
  I think that Jane Austen liked him the most out of all the wonderful heroes she created. He has some first rate qualities about him. He always showed such strong character in everything he did. When Robert Martin came and asked advice he gave it.
  You see that Mr Knightley is universally acknowledged to be a man of sound character and judgement. He is wonderful. He was wonderful when he asked Harriet to dance, too.
  And he is so benevolent! "PORK! Oh, what a happy pork it must have come from. HAHAHAHAH..."

Tell me I am not the only one who loves this scene to pieces? It is so sweet and to tell you the truth... I tear up when it starts playing.
*sniff*
So when all is said and done... Mr Knightely is great and shall always be great. :)
 And I am adding the proposal because it is just too sweet.

HERO WEEK

   Anne-girl's Hero Week is now upon us and my delight is growing as each moment brings me nearer defending my favourite hero. (HA... it is not like I just wait to defend him but sadly he dose need a good deal of defending):
  Seeing that Anne-girl wants us to post our top ten heroes it is my honour and privilege to post this. *side note: I may not post all ten but some will do. Won't it?*
  I have been looking forward to this for quite some time and now it is here! You all know who my favourite hero is but not why. So here is a rather long post I've been working on... slightly for a "long' time. (:
  So... without further ado... my heroes. Yes... I use the word "MY." (:

WARNING: These heros are NOT in order... but the best seem to get up to the top. *laugh* And it may have some spoilers.






                                                     MR. Darcy ~Pride and Prejudice

*sigh*

 All right, lets make one thing clear. I just cannot call him "Fitzwilliam." Lady Catherine's creepy voice sounds in my "poor head' every time I hear his name! (Miss Dashwood said it with extravagant

goodness) And... I chose this picture because he's smiling. What? Oh, yes! "Soaaaaaaary!" But it is the truth. I guess (and I am speaking about the only actor I can call MR. Darcy) he did have a reason not to smile "a lot." But still he should have more.

OK, enough already. The main reason why I LOVE this hero is because he is just AWESOME. Come on. Now, you gotta admit it! (admit it, admit it Maria) Ahem... anyway.

I don't like him just because he is handsome, or filthy rich, or because he "hops in the Pemberley pond." I like him because of his British accent. Um... all right, I'll stop. (for now)

I like him because his pride melts away, he is a great brother, and because he strode in at the last and saved Lizzy from "Wickam-distress." (yes... I'm quoting myself)

  MR. Knightley~ Emma

Another Austen hero! Who cares... they are all great! Ahem...

(did you notice I put a one by his name?) I know, I know. I'm a horrid copy-cat and I am proud of it (not). Anyways...

I have LOVE MR. Knightley as much as I do MR. Darcy! (Miss Woodhouse is thinking..."What? There can not be two opinions about his being the best!") I disagree.

I did think I liked him more than Darcy once but I think I like em both pretty the same. Don't you think he looks good in a top hat? By the by, this is my brother question. *loud cough*

I love MR. Knightley because he is a Austen hero and because he is so terribly gentlemanly. Yes, he can be a little too harsh many times but he is what a TRUE hero is. "If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more." DISCLAIMER: I love that scene!!!!! Did I use that word correctly?

I like this guy because he's cool. Love the scene were he says "Drop. Your. Sword."

(not) No really... I sorta like it. A man in black just has to be cool... does he not?

My brothers are obsessed with quoting him all day long and I seem to get a quote in each day too.

Ahem... and the fencing scene. (:

Mr Tilney~Northanger Abbey 

One: I have not watched this Northanger Abbey and I'm not sure if it is even good. But I have read the book. Two: I think he is with Catherine but I'm not sure. Three: fill-in-the-blank.

First... Mr Tilney made me laugh all through the book. I just like him because he is gentlemanly, funny, and are they not the sweetest couple ever? I was laughing from his thoughts on muslin to his story about what Catherine would find behind the black veil!

Gilbert Blythe~Anne of Green Gables  

I like him because of his personality. I think that his advice to Anne would do well for me. I've constantly got my head in the clouds and my pen is writing down such creepy nonsense that it would do me good to retort back at him, "I'm not your horse, Mr Blythe!" Just kidding but he is one of my favourites.

I think this sort of raps it up.

 Even though I did not list ten heroes I got the majority on my favourites list.

The loveliest dance

  Ever since seeing the BBC 2009 Emma I've been quite in love with Mr Knightley and Emma's dance. Who could not be? It is truly unforgettable! The music, the dance steps and the hole feeling you get when it ends is so, so lovely.
    And I thought I loved Darcy and Elizabeth's dance. Question??? But no. NO, no, no, no, no! It will not do! I can not do. This is quite distressing, is it not? Yes, indeed.
  Well, by and by, may I comment that it is soooooah wonderful. Yes, thank you. (THE END)

        Ah yes! Here is a line up picture thing. I have no clue what it is really called so I shall dub it the name of "the picture thing."

 Am I the only one who is plagued with the silliest smile on my face after this dance? Please tell me if you are. My sister thinks it is better than Lizzy and Darcy's dance and (I must say) I have to agree with her.
  Dear, Mr. Knightley! "Why on earth, did she call Knightly?" (and if you don't get it, I will think you a simpleton, indeed)
